<br />1.) Test kit has light blue to dark blue to tell what your iodide is at
<br />2.) Completely useless because as soon as you add the reagent to get the color reaction it starts to fade from dark to light blue
<br />3.) You have literally 20 seconds or less to guess what color matches on the chart b4 the test sample goes colorless.

<br />1.) At least if your sample water goes blue it tells you have iodide in your water.

<br />My opinion don't waste your money. If your really want to dose iodide or iodine just do like 1 drop a day per 50g to really play it safe. I use to do 4 drops a day of brightwell lugols for my 50g and had my iodine read at 0.09 which is high. The story is since I dosed at small increments my fish and coral where still safe even if my iodine was high. Dose small and you'll be safe hope this saved someone from wasting their money.

Comments: From all test kits I tried so far this one was probably the worst. First you have to make one of the reagents yourself (?). Then the results are really hard to read: the final color is a very light blue and the scale given changes from fsaint blue to very light blue, almost impossible to get exactly the resulting value. And the final color only stays "on" for some seconds, everything gest transparent in less than a minute.

Comments: I find the test very easy to use, and I appreciate having a reference sample - but none of that helps since I cannot read the results.

<br />The color key is composed of various shades of light blue with very little contrast. Trying to find a match for any sample is just a wild guess, and gives me no confidence.

Comments: I had an idea that my system was in chronic iodide deficiency and it proved to be true. It was half of NSW. This kit is easy to use and has made dosing iodide safe. Levels closer to NSW are getting tired corals new life. I would and will buy this product again.

Comments: Using the reference bottle enclosed the test seems pretty accurate. Always a good idea to test for things like Iodine before you dose! Lots of steps to test and hard to read the color as it's just a long fade of white to blue. Once you get used to it thought it's pretty easy.

Comments: The Seachem Multitest: Ioding & Iodide Text Kit is very difficult to use. You must have distilled water to make the test chemical every time you test. Most aquarium owners have R/O water, which is noted as not being pure enough. I had a hard time getting any reading at all even with fresh distilled water. If you do get a reading, it is very very difficult to make out on the color chart. The difference in colors is very small. I would have trouble calling this kit usable, much less accurate.

Comments: i was very pleased..easy to use, accurate, fairly quick to set up
