Comments: Just about every major manufacture and boutique specialty company has a water conditioning and treatment product.

<br />I can't say I've tried them all, but close too it. Some products have at the least, minimal effectiveness while others can be potentially dangerous.

<br />I've been using Amquel for years and it's a fine conditioner, excellent at removing chlorine, and Chloramines, but like all these products - they come with limitations.

<br />Well, with one exception and that's Prime by Seachem. Prime doesn't just remove the chlorine and Chloramine it does much more:

And was very pleased. Readings all at zero. Search no further this is the one & only product on the market that will get the job done. Trust me you wont go wrong. Comments: Prime is a product that I use everyday in my fish room. Every water change is accompanied by Seachem Prime. This product over the years has saved me from countless problems. Other products exist that work, but not as well as Prime.

Comments: Super product use each during the cycling process 6 to 8 weeks or until you've gone though the ammonia spike and fall then nitrite spike and fall and a steady nitrate. GREAT STUFF!

Comments: I have been using Prime for a while now, in both my freshwater and saltwater tanks. It does a great job neutralizing tap water for freshwater changes and a little goes a long way. It's also great for a quick "detox" when I get an ammonia and/or nitrite spike (e.g. petsitter overfeeding the tanks).

Comments: I wouldn't dream of doing a water change without this product. I recomend this product to everyone that is starting a new tank.

Comments: Today I tested my typical ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels. I found that everything was a touch too high - (ammonia: 0.35ppm, Nitrites: 0.25ppm, Nitrates: 15ppm). I added 10ml of Seachem Prime to my 72g Salt Water Reef Tank w/ 30g Refugium. After about an hour I retested my levels and both the Nitrites and Ammonia levels were back at 0ppm. The Nitrates were still at 15ppm so I added another 10ml of Prime. I let the water cycle for about 8 hours and again retested the Nitrates to find they had dropped back to 0ppm. I am very pleased with the results of using a minute amount of the Seachem Prime. My corals went unharmed as well as the invertebrates.

Comments: I use to be a amquel fan but once i started using this, nothing else compares!!. Don't have to worry to much on overdosing , if there is a nitrate spike you can add up to 5 times the the normal dosage! don't fully rely on prime as a substitute to removing nitrates, it will reduce them but the only way to fully remove them all, is doing water changes

Comments: I have been using seachem prime for over 5 years now and its the best water conditioner there is hands down. You will save alot of money using prime and its far better than these other crappy brands like stress coat. 250ML bottle will last me over 6 months and i have 9 tanks i water change every week. Ask anyone who knows anything about water conditioners or any breeder and they will all agree prime is the best you can buy!

Comments: Petsmart Fish Expert introduced me to this product...costs a fraction of other brands water conditioners, use only drops per gallon instead of tablespoons!! Bottle lasts a really long time! Don't buy any other conditioner unless you want to throw money away!!!

Comments: Best water treatment you can buy. Period. Removes Chlorine, Chloramine, and Amonia and will detox nitrates and nitrites - 2 things that very few other water treatments can claim to do. Extremely cost-effective if you follow the instructions for use.

Comments: I have used Seachem products and specifically, Seachem Prime, for years while effecting water changes in my aquariums. It is easy to dose and consistently effective. I strongly recommend Seachem Prime. This product does have a strong odor when it is opened but that is normal. Neither you nor your fish will notice it again once you dose the the tank and close the bottle. It is just a reminder that your water is about to be chlorine free.

Comments: Prime is an excellent product works instantly especially when performing water changes with a 'Python' type water changer. Dosages are simple, recommend obtaining a liquid-medicine type cup that measures 5ml - 15ml. This makes it very simple during the water changing process. I KNOW the product works instantly as I have used two other major brand products which had failed causing fish loss & nitrite spikes. Prime has been my complete conditioner for over a year now!!

Comments: This is a great condioner but it will make your skimmer stop working well for quite a while. Get the other ammonia remover made by Seachem that doesnt have the slime coating- thats what will mess up your skimmer from working.

Comments: This is the Best water conditioner on the market. I use a Python for water changes (65gal & 10gal tanks). No other product removes chlorine or chloramines faster then SeaChem's Prime. I used Kordon's NovAqua+ (lost a fish due to chloramines), I used Kordon's AmeQuel+ (almost lost fish had to use triple the dosage!), and I used Hikari's ULTIMATE also had to use triple dosage!.
<br />Now I do not mess around with other products. SeaChem's Prime is it, cost effective, minimal amounts exact dosage works everytime. After 10 weeks or 10 water-changes there has been no sign of fish-stress.

Comments: I have been using Prime for about 5 years now and rely on it completely. It is especially important for all of us who use city water (most all of us), as it filters/neutralizes all the bad chemicals from your water (chlorine in particular).

<br />Also, the proprieter of one of the best African Cichlid fish stores in Washington, Conway Tropical Fish, uses Prime in all of his commercial tanks and he swears by it! One thing about the product: it tells you to use a small amount with each water change. But it was called to my attention by this owner that you can really safely use more. So, if you notice that your fish are in distress, it doesn't hurt to dump in a little more to try to fix the problem. You can't really "overdose."

Comments: I have to say this stuff came highly recommended. It is an excellent product. I was having trouble with ammonia and nitrite and prime worked wonders. I triple dosed my tank and all of my fish are doing great. Works fast and reliable. For the price you get a lot out of it. I will not use anything else but Prime. I have already recommended to my friends and family and they have report suscess also. You cannot go wrong with prime.

Comments: One bottle will last months. Good for detoxifying ammonia for your fishes health, yet keeping the ammonia present so that it can be consumed by the beneficial bacteria in your bio-filter media.
