Comments: The wheel indicated that it was a good size for hedgehogs and chinchillas, that is not the case, it is a bit small for a hedgehog and would really be confining to a chinchilla let alone the fact that the width of the running surface is very narrow... This would probably even be pretty hard to run on for a good sized rat.

Comments: He just loves it. It is too bad that they don't make a 6 1/2 or a 7 inch one. Sammy went right for it. He checked it out by sitting in it then he started to spin. He can go very fast with it and he can stretch all of the way out. Arlene and Sammy

Comments: The first wheel that was sent to me was broken and I think it probably broke in the mail. So I called them and they jumped right on the situation and sent me a new wheel for NO charge. I am very thankful for that and this wheel is not broken this time and my hamster is loving it! This is a great play toy for little pets.

Comments: I like the 8.5" comfort wheel because it is the right size for a golden hamster. Any size smaller is too small. I also like that the running floor is solid so no injuries to toes or tails. My hamster likes it too.

<br />The drawbacks are twofold. It's noisy. But I don't mind. Also, it wears out. After several months, the bump on the axle wears down so the wheel falls off the axle. I keep it lubricated with olive oil, but it rubs plastic against plastic, so it eventually wears down. But I don't mind the expense of buying new wheels because the positive aspects of this product out weigh the negatives.

<br />But regardless of the positives and negatives, it's the only wheel on the market that I've seen that is the right size for a full sized golden hamster.

Comments: I was glad to find a wheel that was not wire, therefore tail friendly. I bought what was described as the large wheel because I have a trio of degus (often described as gerbils on steroids.) Fortunately, their tails will not get caught, which was a large concern as they can break off. But, after about 1 week of solid use, the wheel does squeak quite a bit. If I can get their permission, I'll put a little vegetable oil in there to ease the squeek, but will probably be buying a different brand that I saw in the local chain pet store. So, good for degus, but squeak to be addressed shortly, I hope.

<br />I would recommend this to people that have smaller pocket pets, like mice, hamsters and gerbils, but for degus and rats, it's not sturdy enough for extended use.

Comments: I ordered this because it was advertised as QUIET. it is not, in any sense of the word. It works for now, but wear and tear WILL break it (hamsters go an average of 5 miles a night), in the meantime, it is not quiet, so I will not recommend nor buy again.

Comments: This wheel is very loud! Also it's difficult to use through the wires of the cage - it's very hard to remove the wheel from the center post. The 8 1/2" size is perfect for my brown bear hamster and she loves running on it.

Comments: I purchased a "starter" hamster cage from a pet store that included a wheel, a water bottle, etc. After about a year, the wheel broke. I wanted a wheel that was identical to the one that broke. I drove around to many pet stores looking for a replacement wheel with no luck. In addition, I visited many websites with no luck as well. I finally found the wheel on PetStore.com. It's the exact wheel I was looking for!! THANKS!

Comments: We ordered 2 wheels. One would not turn at all when we received it so it was returned. The wheels are not as quiet as they claim. But the gerbils don't seem to care. Have not received the replacement for the defective one yet.
