Comments: I bought this cage when I got my three mice (my first small animal pets) and it served them very well as a single cage in the beginning and now as part of a three cage setup. They like to cuddle up with some nesting fluff in the petting zone, and the wheel that comes with it is a good size and seems safe. I did not have much trouble assembling, and although the pieces do need to be snapped together with some force, while at the same time being careful not to break them, after some practice it doesn't take me long at all. I like that I am able to attach a water bottle outside the cage so I can use my own and so that it doesn't take up cage space. There are many ports for expansion and adding accessories, which I definitely like as well. Overall, great as a great starter cage or as an addition to a larger setup.

Comments: Perfect cage! My pregnant hamster, Sara, gave birth in this cage! Not only was it large enough for all 12 babies (they all survived), the wheel was safe for their tiny paws! I added another cage (dazzle) to this one, so Sara could get away from her brood for a bit. A great cage for small and larger hamsters!

Comments: I bought this with my first mouse. It was returned 2 days later. It was very difficult to put together, taking well over half an hour because parts didn't fit together correctly. There is no room inside to add a little hideout or other toys, meaning there's no variety to stimulate them. The colors make it hard to see what's going on inside, and if somewhere were to happen to the animal(s) it isn't remotely easy to get them out. Worst of all, the cage felt like it was about to come apart at any minute, even though all pieces were properly secure. I would house pets in modified tupperware containers before putting them in another crittertrail.

Comments: this is perfect for your first hamster!
