"Scraper not efficient"
- Product Review by Richard Anderson
(Posted on 9/18/12)
-
Comments: Just a couple of points regarding the scraper:

Scraper blade does not lay flat against the glass.
Blade is not strong enough to lay flat or scrape persistent algae.
Only a small portion of the blades cleans the algae.
Have to scrape the same spot several times before seeing any results.
Will continue using a razor blade for most of the tank and use the scraper where the razor blade can't reach.

Comments: it is okay. the metal blade wouldnt take off the harder algae as i was hoping so i still ended up reaching in the tank with a razor blade. i bought this to avoid reaching in, so it didnt quite do what i wanted.

"Not loving it!"

Comments: Sadly, I let the algae and coraline growth get ahead of me. The only cure was to get down and dirty with either a single edge razor blade in a metal holder or a metal paint scraper. Both options meant getting wet to the shoulder in my 90 gallon aguarium. I needed a scraper with a long handle to stay high and dry. The Tom algae scraper looked like it would fit the ticket.
Not sharp enough or enough leverage toward the bottom to get the job done to my satisfaction.

Comments: Algae scaper is a great item for maintenance. Only, downside to the item is the algae pad or glass scaper is a little small for larger tanks.

"great product!"
- Product Review by Daniel Davidson

Comments: Great product. The 3 heads are easy to swap on and off. It has a long reach, and the bristle pad can rotate for corners and stuff. The metal scraper is the best. It isnt sharp and has dulled corners so it wont screw up the glass.

Comments: By the time I ordered this item, the glass in my tank was encrusted in so many places with coralline algae. I used the glass scraper and made quick and relatively easy work of getting it off. I would recommend this item.

"Scraper"
- Product Review by Betty Schuenke

Comments: I used it on a 75 gallon salt water tank that does get a build up of algae due to it being in a well light living room and it's not up against a wall, but it gets light from all around. I needed a scraper for getting the tough algae spots, as for every day use, I use a magnet type larger scrapper. This one will reach down into the top edge of the gravel also at the ground line, where it also builds up - worked great on removing that algae. Have not tried to use the other attachments yet, but even if they don't work, I'm happy with the scrapper itself - very sturdy too!! And unlike the flimsy one I had before, with a straight edge razor for the scraper part, this one does not scratch the tank! Thanks for the excellent tool added to my tank accessories.
