"Great pump"

Comments: I bought this pump to run NP pearls in a Two little fishies 550 phosban reactor which it does very well. Really impressed with the fact that I can't hear it and that I didn't notice any increased heat gain in my tank. I'm actully going to be ordering another one in the coming months for another build I'm going to do, :).

"good, quiet little pump"

Comments: I use this pump for my auto-topoff. It starts up everytime without issue and while noise isn't an issue for a pump that only runs 20 - 30 seconds a day, even without the suction cups and sitting on the bottom of the plastic bucket, it's still very quiet!

"Tunze Silence"

Comments: Selected this model for flow rate. Selected Tunze for reputation. When first hooked up and running, the pump did have a noticeable hum, but has slowly quieted as it broke in and continues to do so. Very good pump.

Comments: If you want a pump for your fish tank then i would not recommend this product. As good as this pump is for watts it just does not have the power of my Via aqua pump. It is much smaller and it is pumping over 4 feet so take that into consideration. On the plus side,It is virtually silent and has no heat from the motor. If you want flow, choose the bigger size or pump lower than 4 feet of head.

Comments: This little pump does what it's advertised to do - move a lot of water and is very quiet. I use it as my return pump from my sump servicing a 50G display tank. No issues and it starts back up with no problem after it's been turned off. This was an issue I had with the Atman this replaced.

"Quiet"

Comments: I decided to go with this for my second tank (FOWLR). Since it was a second tank, I wanted it to be more effient in energy use. So at less than ~40 watts, it's great for the amount it pushes. At four feet, I would think I'm pushing around ~250 GPH, which is fine for me since it lets more water dwell in the sump section. I have a 1 inch overflow and this return pump works fine for the level I want since I'm relying on powerhead to move water instead of a return pump.

Comments: extremely satisfied with this versatile pump, puts out great flow (792 GPH) with minimal noise. it also can be adjusted while operating to softer settings ranging down to (79 GPH) without sacraficing high output capabilities, has a small footprint (4.6 x 3.7 x 2.9) for a variety of placement applications, has few parts for optimal efficiency and ease of maintainig. By far the best pump i have owned!

"Awesome pumps"

Comments: I own both the .20 and .40 and they are both awesome. Great flow, super reliable, 100% restarts and ultra quiet. I was surprised how much quieter they are then my maxi-jet mp 1200. Amazing considering they pump 2-3x more. Get the .40 (792 gph) model if you need to go over 4 feet. Otherwise the .20 is a better value.

"Not really silent."

Comments: I payed the extra bucks for this pump thinking it would be silent, it isn't. It is LOUD. I don't know if mine is defective or not but it sure pumps a lot of water but it isn't silent and thats what I was hoping it would be. Lesson learned.

Comments: Are you kidding me??...this pump is so silent that my wife didn't think it was running. Super powerful in a small package. I have it dialed down and it's still pushing around 550gph @4feet. Thank you TUNZE.

"Great pump["

Comments: The pump works very well, i like the ability to adjust the flow. The only issue i have is when i put it in the sump, there was a low anoying vibebration. I thought this pump would be really silent, well it is, but the feet do not remove the low vibration noise. I ended up putting the pump on a pad, this removed the noise.

Comments: I just purchase this TUNZE pump (1073.04) and its a NO-BRAINER that its is extremely quiet. Its blows the RIO Pumps out of the water in SIZE (Dimensions) to POWER (gph). I've had 3 different rio pumps from the 2500, 3500 to the Hyper flows. Which hyper flows are extremely nosier than the standard rio (for the first 3 weeks they say a breakn period needs to occur and when it did it was still humming loud), and my opinion they are all JUNK! They have broken down or get stuck and make this clicking sound and could never get them running again. The TUNZE might be a little pricey, but believe me ALL the TUNZE products are over engineered to perfection. This is my 3rd TUNZE product (2 different power heads: Tunze Turbelle® Stream 2 Pump 6065 & 6085) and im sticking to this brand, you got to love the GERMANS! When it comes to engineering they know their stuff hands down. Good Job!

Comments: I am pumping water into my Elos 70 at a head height of about 48 inches. This pump replaces a Eheim 1260, the GPH rating from the flow chart graph is not putting the GPH that it states from my own observations (i have it on high setting). Given that I love the size and the low noise. Great pump!

"BEST return pump period"
- Product Review by Daniel Garcia

Comments: The title says it all. Uber-quiet and fully adjustable. I have the Eheim pump that I bought for my Elos 70 in it's original box and went straight for the Tunze. The quietest pump EVER! Trust Tunze to make suction cups that after they stick, they are ON and a bit difficult to remove but no noise whatsoever. Needed another pump for the Elos sump and bought another Tunze. Craftmanship is superb as with all Tunze products.

Comments: Much quieter than my last pump I had on my calcium reactor. Also I like the option of the flow adjustment. You can blast it at 670 gph or as little as 50gph.

"Wrong impellers"
- Product Review by Douglas K Davies
(Posted on 2/12/09)

Comments: I ordered, and received two of these pumps (Tunze Recirculation Pump/Powerhead Silence 1073.020). I tried the first pump - its output was approximately half of the output (flow rate) that I get from my Mag 7. The ratings of these two pumps are similar (Mag 7 = ~700gpm; Tunze 1073.020 = 634 gpm). That was very disappointing. I called customer service (BTW, they were awesome!) and they asked me to try the second pump. The second pump gave me closer to the expected flow rate - however, the pump was making a terribly loud noise. I checked the impellers on both pumps - and even though they were the same model, the impellers were not remotely alike. The first pump's impeller blades were considerably smaller, and the power of the magnet considerably less than the second pump's impeller. This may just be a QA problem with a new product, but until it is resolved, I cannot recommend this pump.Customer support was very good about arranging for the return of these two pumps for full credit. I have returned them for a refund.
