"Reliable & Effective"

Comments: If you are having issues with green hairy algae, then this product is for you. I had a terrible bloom a couple of years ago that lasted for about one year. My phosphate level was not completely out of control but it was high enough to trigger the bloom. I tried every phosphate product under the sun. Every week, I would spend about 3 hours just pulling and scraping new algae growth from the tank. I was about to toss in the towel when an employee from a local fish store recommended that I try this product with the Phosban reactor. The algae started magically dissolving within days and within a month, I had everything back under control. The cool thing about this product is that you can add it to your reactor, and depending on the level of phosphates in your tank, you can forget about it. It lasts a long time without needing to be constantly replaced (like some other products). Just make sure to keep measuring your phosphate levels. Now, I like to use it as a "maintenance" tool. I have a mixed reef tank with softies and stonies and fragile invertebrates but they are all very tolerant of this product. I highly recommend it. I only wish I had discovered it at the beginning of my algae nightmare!

Comments: Phosban is exactly what I needed for my new 90gal tank. Phosphates used to be 20.ppm now they're down to .21ppm and that's just 1 week of using it. For water flow past the
<br />phosban/carbon I usedTom Aquatics Aqua-Lifter Dosing Pump and a old gravel vacuum with a sponge and plug for the bottom opening. I replace the phosban and carbon when my phosphates stop dropping for a few days

"PhosBan Media"
- Product Review by Andrew Martinez
(Posted on 10/3/11)

Comments: Started with Phosban in PhosBan Reactor150 very little results, in drop in Phosphate in two weeks. Thought this stuff would work faster than it says it should. Testing Phos level was 0.8mg/L and is 0.6mg/L after two weeks of use. will have to wait and see if is gets any better with more time? Using Culligan RO/DI water which tests Negative for PHos.

"Simple & Effective"
- Product Review by Todd Lachmann
(Posted on 5/9/11)
-
Comments: I have been using this product in a 150 reactor now for about six months and very pleased with performance/price. My system is a 'stuffed to the gills' mixed reef which I feed 2-3 times daily, with the addition of the reactor and monthly replacement of media the phosphate levels remain near zero. I also add a couple of inches of carbon for better control of flow through reactor.

"Phobane reactor"
- Product Review by Travis Fick
(Posted on 10/18/09)
-
Comments: Works as stated. Do not put more than 30GPH through the reactor with this stuff. It will grind up into dust and get released into your Aquarium. You should not see ANY or VERY minor movement of the PhosBan.

"Phosphate No More!"
- Product Review by Robert A Spink
(Posted on 10/15/09)

Comments: I have been having a low level phosphate problem and have been trying to solve it naturally using macro algae but could not seem to kick the last few points out of my system. After trying bags of media in the sump to no avail I decided to use the two little fishies phosban in conjunction with their phosphate reactor. Two days later.... Phosphate no more!

Comments: Since using this product now for quite some time (a year or more, more i think)I have had no detectable levels at all, without it i did have periodic outbreaks no matter what i did. This dropped the levels and coupled with my Aqua C remora skimmer ,keep my levels at undetectable amounts.

Comments: I've used alot of different brands and this one is worth the $$$. Most definitely better than some of the cheaper brands like seachem and almost as good as Rowaphos. Does a good job of keeping phosphate levels low hindering the growth of nuisance algaes.

"Phosban"
- Product Review by John Atkinson
(Posted on 12/25/08)

Comments: The product seems to do its job great. I use it in a Next Reef reactor on a 100 gallon sps tank. I do not have a lot of room for my macro algae in a 40 gallon sump with equipment so I use this to constantly absorb what the insufficient amount of macro algae doesn't. Works great and keeps the colors at their best. If you have a tank with sps coral in it already be cautious not to take phosphates out too quickly. Some of your sps may look like they are starting to bleach but after a few weeks the colors will come back better and brighter than before. Keep the Magnesium levels above 1350-1400 to discourage RTN witch can occur when phosphates are taken away too quickly in a tank that the corals have already adjusted to. No complaints, Great product, easy to rinse and easy to use.

Comments: So far so good, I bought the via aqua reactor and filled it with phosban and hydrocarbon. Unfortunately I filled it too much and restricted the flow. Read the directions. Even with low flow my tank is doing great, hair algea is starting to thin. I plan to reload the reactor this weekend to get its full potential.

"high maintenance"
- Product Review by Anthony Pizzutillo
(Posted on 1/13/08)
-
Comments: Phosban 150 reactor, while effective, clogs in days resulting in an ineffective system. Try cutting the media bag and slipping it over the bottom membrane/strainer to prevent clogging. Reactor needs constant oversight and maintenance.

Comments: I am using the PhosBan in one reactor and carbon in another both run from a mac 2 pump. The customer service was great to help me with plumbing a Y connection and feed goth reactors with one pump which is plenty since reactors aren't looking for great amount of flow.

Comments: This stuff really works! While cycling my new aquarium, the phosphate reading of my water was off the charts. I then added this product and within 2 days the water phosphate reading dropped dramitically. It is important to note that this product may also drop the water's PH a bit.

- Product Review by John Cady
(Posted on 11/30/07)

Comments: I had purchased this product because I had a very bad phosphate problem. It was so bad I wasen't even on the charts. I was going to purchase a phosphate reactor from my pet store when I checked into your website and saw this was a much better product and great price. I have had this now for almost two months and I have so little traces of phosphate now. I change the media about every two weeks at first to help get rid of the phosphates. in just two changes now it is all gone. Just remember to change the media from time to time when you see you are starting to have a little increase. thanks for a great product.
