Comments: I got this as a second home for my hamster so I can leave one at home and one at school and I already had the aquarium. It was a little bit difficult to put together. The hooks kept hooking in the wrong place and one of them actually popped off. Some of the wires came bent and it didn't seem to fit together exactly right.

After getting the outside walls put together, which is easy enough, you have to maneuver the inside platforms and ladders and get it just perfect or start all over again. When I thought I had it put together the right way and all set up, I put my hamster in it. She explored all around and decided that easier than walking down the long ladder to the first floor would be JUMPING OFF from the middle platform. After about three or four times of her landing on her head and her back I decided that that probably shouldn't be occurring. I took it all apart all over again and reconfigured it to make it easier for her to go down the ladder. Now she doesn't jump anymore.

It's a great home for my hammy now that it's all put together. I can really see her and find her in her cage, much easier than the purple and green cage we had before. I don't know if the wire hurts her feet but I may cover it if it seems like she's avoiding the top levels. It might also be hard to lure your hamster out of the top little trap door that doesn't shut very tightly. I've been taking the cover off at the middle part to get my hammy out. It seems large enough for her with the extra levels and it will be great in the classroom where my students just observe her for now. I don't know if it would be large enough for other small mammals but my Syrian Hamster seems comfortable in it at the moment.
