WON Pro-Heat IC Heater 50 W Information

Because fish are cold-blooded animals, they adapt the temperature of the surrounding water. Thus, if the water is cold, the fish will feel cold, too. In seas, lakes, rivers, etc., the water is naturally regulated so fish can live comfortably. But in an aquarium, where there is no Mother Nature to regulate temperature, you have to provide a means to provide the necessary heat, especially in very cold weather. You will need the Won Pro-Heat IC Heater.

The Won Pro-Heat IC Heater`s from Pet Store two heating tubes are made of titanium and are thus virtually unbreakable. They are also resistant against damage that saltwater may cause, so you won`t have to worry about the salt corroding the material. This heater has a very high precision of +/- 1 degree Fahrenheit, thanks to an installed microcomputer within the device via an integrated circuit (IC). It also has an easily adjustable interface for temperature control, so you can quickly adjust the numbers according to what you want.

You can fully submerge the Won Pro-Heat IC Heater in the water because all of its electrical parts are fully protected. When sensor wires are either shorted or disconnected, the heater`s protective device starts up automatically to prevent accidents.

Heating Tube Length: 10.25" features:
 • Titanium heating tube.
 • Fully submersible.
 • Automatic protection mechanism activates when sensor wiring is disconnected or shorted.
 • Double protection tube.
 • Very durable & reliable.
 • Safe & easy to operate.
 • Thermostat uses IC (Integrated Circuit) to control the heater to adjust desired aquarium temperature.
 • Operating temperature range: 60 F to 93 F.
 • Ideal for SALTWATER & FRESHWATER.
 • Titanium is highly resistant to chemicals normally found in saltwater.
 • Controlled by micro computer with high precision of ±1°F.
 • Can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
 • Full one year warranty.

WON Pro-Heat IC Heater 50 W Reviews

"BUY AT OWN RISK!!!" - Product Review by Jonathan Gomez (Posted on 1/13/12)

Comments: Don't get me wrong this heater worked great for the first year or so but then it messed up on me. Which is where it went all bad.... I would rather something stop working completely then what happened with this heater. I came home from work to see my tank at 93 degrees and most of everything in my tank roasted. The heater won't turn off now even with the dial turned all the way down. If you have this heater keep and eye out for this malfunction or you may lose eveything if your tank!

"In the Sump!" - Product Review by Justin Boucher (Posted on 2/22/09)

Great!

Comments: I have two of these heaters working my 240g. I specifically have them placed in the sump where they and their cords are not visible. I like the external temperature sensor which ensures that the heater is not directly affecting the sensor and prematurely turning off the heater elements.

The 5th star is missing because the controller is too wide to place two of them side by side on a double outlet. Each controler practically takes up an full outlet on it's own.

"Works well until it doesn't" - Product Review by Daniel Fineman (Posted on 11/19/08)

Comments: I've used Won heaters exclusively in my 3 tanks for a few years. 1 50w, 1 100w, 1 150w.

The 50w unit worked well until it stopped working one day, after about a year. Chalking it up to a fluke, I replaced it.

The replacement worked well too, until just over a year later, it stopped working too... I think I'm going to switch to Marineland Stealth heaters next -- looking for another heater that doesn't light up the tank with an indicator light at night (tank's next to my bed).

If you get one, watch it for failure!

"Excellent Heater" - Product Review by Jerri Allen (Posted on 11/3/08)

Excellent!

Comments: Heater in 55 gal freshwater tank for about a week now & no complaints. I especially like the detached sensor that allows for the reading to be taken from a different location in the tank that within the heater. Easy to read dial... All suction cups are strong and powerful. Absolutely no complaints.

"Dont get fooled!" - Product Review by Lee Yeung (Posted on 9/22/08)

Comments: Dont get fooled by the picture. There is a temperature probe that also goes into the tank that is attached to the controller, but is not shown in the picture. You will have two wires coming out of the tank. I based my purchase on the picture, which shows only one wire.

"I would recommend it" - Product Review by Clinton Pearcy (Posted on 1/14/08)

Great!

Comments: This heater is pretty much idiot proof, low profile, and a good price. The only thing I don't like or understand is the external temperatur pickup that has to be suction cupped right next to the heating unit. Just another wire hanging out of my tank that doesn't need to be there.

"Blew a fuse!" - Product Review by Alex Stevens (Posted on 12/19/07)

Unsatisfactory

Comments: My Won titanium heater worked fine on my dual temp controller for about 18 months. Then it overheated (even though it was on a temp controller!) and blew the fuse the tank was on. Fortunately someone was home to reset the breaker. The heater no longer works.

Why risk your tank?

Unsatisfactory

Comments: I bought 3 of these heaters about 6 months ago. first one failed after 3 months and nearly boiled my fish; second one just stopped working after 4 months and the third had a shift in the thermostat sensitivity and started heating up the tank and now has quit working at all. don't buy this product.
