Comments: I have used this product for some time and was very upset when my local and out of town pet stores stopped carrying it. They replaced it with Rep-Cal and Tetra and zoo med. I tried these other products but did not like the results. The other brands did not compare in any way! Zilla foods are clearly the best. Especially this particular formula. This formula created such a healthy looking shell on my tortoises and it looked like they had been polished. My tortoises skin looked healthier and they seemed more energetic when eating this food. With other brands and different styles of food I would have to soak their food or try and encourage them to eat but with the zilla brand foods I don't have to add water to this one,, they just love it the way it is. It can be crunchy and soft just like that. They turn their noses up at other brands and I have noticed the smell of the other brands dont seem to get their attention like the zilla foods. When I had to put up with the other brands my tortoises seemed to almost always not want the food, turn away from it, or just sleep constantly after eating some of it like it slowed them down. My tortoises are usually energetic and wide awake when eating right so my conclusion is that this formula is the best one for tortoises. I'm glad I bought my tortoise food online because I dont know where else I would find it.
