Zilla Humidity & Temperature Digital Gauge Information

Part #: 68028

Terrariums are very interesting environments. Most people are familiar with aquariums and dry land environments for their pets like cats and dogs; however, terrariums are still relatively rare when it comes to pet environments.

With the increasing popularity of pet reptiles, more people are becoming aware of and familiar with terrariums. There are two important factors to consider in a terrarium environment.

  • 1. First is temperature. It is very important to keep your terrarium within a specific temperature range because reptiles are cold blooded. Unlike a cat, a dog or even a bird, which are internally heated from biological processes; lizards, turtles and other reptilian pets require external heating and ambient temperature to maintain their body temperature. Reptile pets need a certain temperature range to perform internal biological processes like digestion. If you live in a very cold climate, you need to keep a close eye on your terrarium's temperature.
  • 2. Humidity is the second factor to consider, especially if you're keeping amphibian. Humidity relates to the amount of moisture in the air. For people living in the tropics, humidity is not a problem because it's naturally humid. However, if you're living in colder climates, the air is substantially drier. And if you are keeping amphibian pets like colorful frogs, salamanders, newts and other exotic pets like that, also certain reptiles, you need to also monitor your humidity.

Thankfully there is an easy tool that you can use that takes the guesswork out of checking the temperature and the humidity, this is the Zilla Humidity & Temperature Digital Gauge from Pet Store.

The Zilla Humidity & Temperature Digital Gauge accurately measures the temperature and humidity in your terrarium. It's very easy to read because it's digital. It has an enlarge font so you won't miss or misread it. It also has a built in calendar and alarm system so you can check the date. You can also set the alarm so you won't forget to; check the condition of your terrarium, feed your pets or give them medications.

The thermometer has a range limit that can track maximum and minimum range. The maximum temperature that it can tract is 23 degrees Fahrenheit to 122 degrees Fahrenheit; in Celsius, the range is -5 degrees to 50 degrees Celsius.

The humidity portion of this digital equipment measures relative humidity that ranges from 30% to 90% moisture. It has 57 inch probe wires so this digital reader can accommodate even really large terrariums. It even has suction cups so you don't have to worry about the probes falling to the bottom of the terrariums; the bottom usually contains some amount of water that might damage the equipment. If you're looking for a well designed, effective and powerful humidity and temperature reader, check out Zilla Humidity & Temperature Digital Gauge.

    Clock with alarm and calendar

    Designed for fast, easy installation

Digital data for optimal reptile health

At a single glance, a terrarium owner can monitor the two most critical environmental variables in reptile health and comfort. Both temperature and relative humidity are displayed on a large digital readout. A built-in calendar and alarm reminds pet owners to check conditions, make feedings or administer medications. The thermometer keeps track of maximum and minimum temperatures in a range from 23F to 122F (-5C to +50C), the hygrometer reads relative humidities from 30% to 90%. A separate probe for each parameter means more accurate positioning; 57" long probe wires suit even the largest terrariums. A set of included suction cups and a built in stand for the processing unit make setup easier
