Aquarium Systems Hold Fast Epoxy Information

Need a sticky hand in dealing with broken corals and reefs? Looking for the right adhesive to create architectural wonders for your fish tanks? The Aquarium Systems Hold Fast Epoxy from Pet Store helps you put together pieces of aquatic rock, either for repair or for creating wonderful home improvements for your pets like a cave, a set of steps, and many others. This is the best and most practical adhesive for you to use in underwater applications.

The Hold Fast comes in epoxy sticks that contain a special substance that makes it suitable for underwater constructions. This adhesive is non-toxic and causes no negative side effects on your fish and plants. The product is very easy to use: simply pull off a piece from the stick, knead it until it becomes white, and apply it wherever you need it. The epoxy has a long life span and can be stored at room temperatures for an indefinite period of time when not in use.

Don't just get any glue when bonding two corals together; they might contain unfriendly compounds. For your aquarium, it is highly recommended that you get the Aquarium Systems Hold Fast Epoxy. With this product, you will create colorful coral-and-reef marvels for your pets to enjoy.

The HoldFasT™ epoxy stick has superior bonding ability that allows you to create steps, caves, cliffs, and walls for aquarium animals to enjoy. It bonds all types of materials from rocks, to corals, to slate, and many more. HoldFasT™ epoxy stick is non-toxic to fish and invertebrates and is great for use in freshwater or saltwater.

HoldFasT™ epoxy stick mixes easily in the palm of your hand. No messy liquids to measure and mix — just break off a piece, knead it in your hand until it turns white, and it is ready to bond.

Comments: This stuff isnt worh 5 cents. I followed the directions and it wont even hold a small frag to the side of a rock. Pretty pathetic. Complete waste of money.

Comments: I like this one better than the grey one. The grey stuff is more rigid and less sticky. I've probably used 50 tubes of various epoxy, and they are all a bit tricky to use, but the first couple times you'll be terrible, but after a while you can do some cool stuff. Glue frag, gorgonians, the stuff is awesome for stabilizing precarious rockwork. So buy a few tubes, and plan on wasting a bit. They're like $9, I suggest also smashing it in one hand, and not touching the frag with that hand, it leaves a whitish film, that you can get all over your frag.

Comments: I have yet to find a decent epoxy including this one. I have had others that would stick to rock. This didn't do very well, as far as frags and corals were concerned. A few frags stuck, but the next day it was over. After reading many of the reviews, there doesn't seem to be any decent ones for most of us. They either come undone right off, or later, the snails will help it along. Someone said the color looks like toothpaste. I agree, gobs of it. When things fall apart, the epoxy breaks up into messy little pieces. Save your money. Use the frag plugs with reef glue and put into holes in your rock or create a few and then put them into it. This way your frags will stay. Your rock??? just arrange so they'll interlock or butt up against what you want it too and stabilize with tonga branches, or smaller rock. That's what I do and it looks fine and provides a place to sit various rocks or frags collected.

Comments: I prefer epoxy over reef glue simply for ease-of-use. I can grab a wad of this goo and use it immediately to affix a new frag to my live rock or even pieces of live rock and tonga branches together. The downsides of epoxy are: 1) If you get carried away, it'll look like dried toothpaste underneath your coral (that is, until your coral grows over the top of it, which is generally the case in my experience AND 2) There has been a couple of instances when the epoxy and coral didn't bond, but I think that's less this products fault and the coral itself. All in all, I would certainly recommend this product and am already on my second tube.

Comments: The expoxy stuck to the rock ok, but did not hold the plastic frag plugs that well.
