Manufacturer Info

Digital Aquatics Aquarium Supplies
Digital Aquatics was founded in 2004 and has quickly become the most recognized name in aquarium automation. Since the company debuted the original ReefKeeper 1 (now known as the RK1) in 2004, they have gone on to create some of the most flexible, innovative and cost effective aquarium controllers on the market. The revolutionary ReefKeeper Elite (RKE) was unveiled in 2008 and the affordable ReefKeeper Lite (RKL) came out shortly thereafter to appeal to more budget-conscience aquarium hobbyists. In 2010, Digital Aquatics released a reptile version, the HerpKeeper, as well as the aptly named PondKeeper. ReefKeeper controllers simplify aquarium keeping duties by monitoring and controlling a variety of water parameters and equipment including but not limited to lighting, water flow, heating, cooling, pH and ORP.

Hard to set up!

Comments: I set mine up with a wireless bridge and it did add a little difficulty to the programming of it all. It took me about a week of research on the DA support forum and a lot of trial and error to finally get the thing working right with the mobile app. you really do need some knowledge of seeing up routers and port forwarding. Because of that I only gave 4 stars. Once it's all working, it's pretty cool to keep an eye on your tank from anywhere and get email alerts from alarms. The best advice I can give for anyone setting this up is do heavy research on the DA forum. .. especially about the port forwarding if you're going to use a wireless bridge.

Comments: It works as advertised, allowing me to monitor my tank from any computer on the internet, even my smart phone. It was a pain to setup. Even though I bought the rest of the package only 3 months ago, I had to upgrade the software on every component, which meant changing connections temporarily - this was not easy since my tank was already wired up. The final setp is a restart, where all my setting were erased, as a final reward. You have to set up an account on the digital aquatics forums just to get the upgrades. Finally, you have to upload a new webpage file to the net module. Depite this, the only letdown is that I cannot control anything from the internet, which I can do with my Neptune Apex. This is a huge negative, especially during vacations when you dont want to involve anyone else in your tank's care. Also, the webpage is much slower to populate with data than on the Apex.

Comments: Awesome product! Easy to set up. I have the data from my tanks streaming to my web site so I can monitor them all the time.
